Always appreciate your posts, and this one in particular. Thank you for breaking down the long COVID muscle/PEM research the way you did. I tried reading that study last night and it was hard to fully grasp.
I was chatting with a couple of friends online today. They both live in the US. I live in Australia. I found that I was telling *them* how bad it is in the US. I asked them what was the last jab they had. Was it the monovalent XBB kind? They had no idea. During the Omicron wave, they were *obsessing* over it. Now, it is as if Covid does not exist. The ignorance is breathtaking this time around.
It’s been really hard. I try to tell friends and family how serious repeat COVID infections are, but no one wants to think about this anymore or consider themselves at risk, even as they see me living daily with debilitating Long Covid. I’m not sure what it will take to get people to listen.
I agree. It is astonishing to me that everyone has just given up on COVID precautions, but public health messaging has not been great on the risks. It is very strange.
